Warehouse Supervisor

Start Date: January 4th, 2022
Salary: Will depend on experience and/or education
Open November 23rd/Closed December 7th, 2021

The position of Warehouse Supervisor will work directly with the Operations Manager to oversee the general operations of the warehouse. This includes, but is not limited to leading a warehouse crew to ensure linens are of top quality and rental orders are prepared and delivered in a professional and accurate manner.

TASKS:

  • Organizing an annual inventory count
  • Monitoring and adjusting inventory counts 
  • Monitor consumable inventory and reorder as necessary
  • Overseeing the quality of inventory and work produced by crew members
  • Leading the organization of inventory within the warehouse, orders pulled for clients, labelling of inventory within the warehouse and labelling of orders pulled for clients
  • Overseeing the packaging of inventory within the warehouse, packaging of orders pulled for clients and the storage of inventory within the warehouse
  • Monitor the weekly check for vehicles, trailers and equipment and report issues as necessary
  • Assign preventative maintenance for vehicles, trailers, equipment and inventory
  • Oversee the general maintenance, cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, equipment and appliances
  • Record repairs, maintenance and/or replacement of inventory
  • Lead the warehouse crew in  the picking, packaging and pick up process of customer pick ups, including but not limited to, the drop off process of customer drop offs, confirmation all items are returned when dropped off and confirm all pickups are complete on their respective day
  • Note any inventory damaged or lost by a client or employee
  • Lead the warehouse crew in the picking, packing and delivery process of set ups and deliveries, including but limited to, the pick up and return process of set ups and deliveries and the confirmation that all items are returned when picked up
  • Oversee the flow and prioritization of inventory based on upcoming client orders
  • Identify the need for employee discipline if necessary
  • Initiate new employee training
  • Identify and oversee additional training for existing employees 
  • Manage personal protective equipment inventory and implementation
  • Oversee overall health and safety training for employees
  • Oversee equipment/job specific health and safety training for employees
  • Manage and assign additional health and safety training as necessary
  • Ensure safe working conditions within the warehouse and on job sites based on Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety guidelines
  • Oversee WHMIS training for employees and the labelling of hazardous goods within the workplace

QUALIFICATIONS + REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting but also work productively on your own.
  • Ability to abide by deadlines in an organized and professional manner.
  • Be self motivated and task oriented.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, if necessary.
  • Leadership skills are an asset. 
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs comfortably and be up and moving for 8+ hours.
  • Class 5 license is mandatory, experience in pulling hitch trailers is considered an asset but not required. Training is available. 
  • The ability to perform under high stress situations in a calm and effective manner is a must.
